Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, or plant milk of choice
- 2 tsp maple syrup (optional but recommended)
- ½ tsp vanilla bean powder or vanilla extract
- 1 tsp matcha green tea powder (a ceremonial blend is less bitter)
- 3 Tbsp chia seeds
- ¼ cup gluten free granola for topping (optional)
- ¼ cup fresh berries for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Blend the almond milk, maple syrup, vanilla bean powder (or extract), and matcha together with a whisk or milk frother, making sure you have no chunks of matcha.
- Pour the liquid into a 16 oz mason jar, and add the chia seeds on top. Whisk until well blended.
- Let sit for 5 minutes and whisk again, assuring that no chia seeds are clumping together in the bottom of the jar.
- Whisk vigorously every 5 minutes, for about 15 minutes until the chia starts to gel.
- Refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours before serving.
- Top with gluten free granola and berries for a nourishing and healthy breakfast. Enjoy!
